Martha Palaza is an apparel design professional whose experience and education is focused on pattern making, production, and teaching. Her skills include pattern making, draping, and garment construction, and she has a strong background in textiles.


Before she opened Palaza Designs, Martha worked as a Costume Technician for Costume Works of Somerville, Massachusetts, whose clients include national theater companies, opera troupes, and entertainment companies. She has also been a visiting lecturer on pattern making and garment construction at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, Massachusetts.

Currently, she teaches pattern making and clothing construction at the School of Fashion Design in Boston, Massachusetts.

Martha holds an MFA in fashion design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California, a BA in studio art from Framingham State University, in Massachusetts, and a certificate in fashion design from the School of Fashion Design, Boston, Massachusetts.
